Hey guys,
I have to fill out TD1 Ontario and TD1 Federal for a new job; the questions are pretty similar for both forms. I do have a question about Question/Line 5: "Spouse or common-law partner amount – If you are supporting your spouse or common-law partner who lives with you and whose net income for the year will be $...". My wife doesn't have a job yet and I will be supporting both of us (groceries, rent, etc.). Therefore, I should be putting $9460 in the form, right? Am I correct in thinking that "spousal support" means that I am a sole breadwinner? I came across this link: https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/fl-df/spousal-epoux/index.html and I am not sure if spousal support means what I think it means (1 income per family and it's coming from my salary).
Any help is appreciated.
