Help with IMM 5406 native characters

My wife is Japanese, but I'm of a different background. She typed her and her families names in English and wrote the japanese characters beside their English names


I'm listed and named on the form as her spouse.
However, as.im not of Japanese descent, should she still use Japanese characters for my name?

My wife is applying for the spousal PR class, and I'm a citizen.

No, there should be no need. Even if there are Japanese documents needed to show your relationship that only had your name in Japanese characters, you'll still need to have them translated.

The only 'catch' may be if your name gets translated back incorrectly (as can happen in some languages), but better is to make sure this doesn't happen up front, i.e. make sure translators spell your name properly.

(Suspect that if it just happens occasionally and documents are not critical a letter of explanation would suffice)
