Hi everyone,
I received a request from the visa officer asking about explanation and evidence of the provenance of the Money transfers to my bank account. The reason might be that I deposited a good amount two days before I had my bank statement issued.
Can you please help suggest what evidence I should present? Thank you

Where did this money come from?
If the money came from your parents, just show them the cheque or an evidence of withdrawal of same amount from your parents account and/or any kind of documentation to support it.. If you scored a loan from bank, add those documents. If you sold a property, upload proof of selling.. basically anything that can prove where the money came from.
If you borrowed it from someone, it might get tricky since it puts your financial situation in doubt.

My wife gave me the money. She had it saved in cash. I’m not sure how to prove it.

Thank you for your response. The money came from my wife, but she had it saved in cash. How may I prove this.
Any way to prove her source of that amount? I mean it's such a huge sum of money, it has to come from somewhere. Either she sold some jewelry or borrowed from her side of family or how she was able to have such amount of money in her possession.
They probably want to make sure you didn't borrow the money just to raise your balance, as you would have to pay it back, and then you wouldn't be able to use it in Canada.

How did she come about with that money?
This needs a bit of work from your end
First of all source of cash in hand with your wife- is she working and can you show tax returns , bank statements where she is drawing cash and than show who is managing expenses. Ideally show total income of yourself and wife and proove that it makes sense that after meeting expenses you have that much cash though it may be tough to proove why this cash is with your wife as it’s unusual here to keep big amount of cash
Second option if she is not working- can you proove other sources - I am not sure about your background bu5 in sub continent you could have shown sales of some asset such personal effects like jewellery or other asset in cash .
But make sure to respond this query diligently as any hint of cash transactions which may look suspicious may lead to further inquiries

Thank you all for the useful responses, the thing is my wife and I keep emergency funds in cash just in case you know this world is crazy. That's how we deposited the cash. Anyway, I make $10000 CAD monthly and I sent them my salary letter from my work place. Do you think this will help?

In that case, you can send an explanation letter that since you make x amount of money (multiple monthly salary slips attached-- better to attach at least 6 months), you can afford to take out cash (attach bank statements that highlights x amount of withdrawals to justify -- highlight them.. its even possible that you withdrew same amount over number of months, that's even better) and hand it over to your wife for emergency fund. Since you wanted to study and needed that fund, it was deposited back to the account. That may connect some dots.
