I'm Canadian, my husband is American. We're in Southern Ontario. We applied for his extension on the 18th of this month (Nov) as we didn't have the funds until then and his visa expires on the 30th of this month. We JUST saw that it said to apply 30 days BEFORE the expiry. Does this mean he has to return to the states before the extension goes through or gets denied or does he have applied status like applying for PR? We're also in the midst of applying for PR as me sponsoring him, which we put on the visitor's extension application. We're both natural worryers/freaking-out-ers so we're REALLY worried! Any advice would be great thank you!

As long as his application was received in Vegreville before his status expired, then he is fine and can remain in Canada until he receives a decision.
Thank you! We were very worried. We applied online and we got an e-mail saying that it did go through we just have to wait for it to be processed. What a weight off our shoulders! ;D
