Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I am a student in second year undergraduate engineering in University of Alberta. I have remained below the 2.0 satisfactory standing mark set by the university for the previous semesters hence I was "Required to Withdraw". I had appealed this decision and my appeal was granted. I only have to score a 2.3 this semester to get back in the game and I feel that this semester is easy and I can accomplish it. But my study permit is expiring March 27th. What are my chances for a renewal and how can increase those chances. I am in Canada right now. My last term GPA was 1.8. Didn't fail any course.

If you're in the second year, how is your study permit expiring so soon? Did you not get a 3/4 year study permit on entry?

Also, March 27 is quite an odd date for a permit to expire in general, are you sure its the study permit which is expiring?

My passport was expiring on April 27th this year. I have gotten my new passport.

Ok, that makes sense.

You just have to submit your transcripts along with the application. Does the transcript say you were required to withdraw or anything?

Yeah it does. But it also says: Appeal granted. May continue under academic warning.

Should be fine as long as your university is ok with it. CIC doesn't care about your grades, just that you were infact attending school.

Except that changes in June. After then, the student must demonstrate that they are making progress.
