Hi everyone,

I received my LOA for a 2 year engineering diploma program for Sept 2015. The program is Engineering Design and Drafting Technology.

Previous education: I completed a Pre-Engineering certificate in 2002 and a diploma in Electrical Engineering - Instrumentation and Control in 2006.

Experience: 1 year Computer technician after which I have a job as a Technical writer and marketing coordinator (current job). There is no gap.

1) Is my current program OK or is it mismatched?
2) Is there any problem going for another diploma?
3) Will my work experience be any cause for concern?
4) Is an education loan covering first year tuition plus $10,000 enough to use as proof as funds only?

Thanks for your response.

Dear Friend,

Canada as a country which encourages people to expand their horizons. There is no restrictions in which field you can get in to.

As International students your decisions can impact your stay in Canada. For example the course you choose, did you do some market research on it? Did you find out how many jobs are available at this time ? Did you search how many jobs are you eligible to apply for? and Lastly what will be the demand in that field when you graduate? Things change a lot in 2 years.

Thanks for your fast response. :D

I know that things are always changing, but I love this course and the prospect doesn't look too bad. Drafting is also something I can do on my own, so I'm not worried.
What I want to know is if things will look OK to the VO as I see quite a few people being denied a study permit for their education and experience as well as for lack of funds. So what do you think?
