Help! Question about police check

Hello,
I am canadian sponsoring my american husband to come to canada. I was living in the USA from 2010-2012 for school, but was only living there on a student visa and was not a permanent resident or citizen...just an F1 Student Visa. Do I need to get an american police check? I had no american Identification

NO, sponsors dont need police checks. Just the person you are sponsoring(applicant) will require one from every country they have lived in for 6 months or more after they attained the age of 18. It doesnt matter what status the person(applicant) had in the country, as long as they meet the description of the conditions above they must get a police clearance

The sponsor doesn't need a police check. Only the applicant does.
