Hi guys
Finally my Canadian husband and I are ready to apply for my PR, here is my question
On OUTLAND application the Proof of Medical Examination shall be done before we submit the application or we shall send all our Docs and forms and wait for Immigration Canada to evaluate the Sponsor and wait for them to give us the green light for Medical exams? Can they be done INSIDE Canada? Any idea of the cost?
Thanks a lot your answers are highly appreciate.

It is better to have the med exam done upfront to avoid cause of delay of the application. Cost vary from country and location. Are you in Canada now that'w why you asked if it can be done there?

Yes, I am in Canada right now on a tourist visa. So do you recommend doing my meds before we submit the whole package? Even when we are talking of OUTLAND here. So... will the doctor send the results to immigration, before they receive my application? What about if something is wrong?

Yes - you need to complete the medical in advance of submitting an outland application. This is what everyone does (or what everyone is supposed to do).

If something is wrong and further tests are required, you will be notified by CIC.

I was told by my panel physician that they (they being the panel physician) would contact me if any of my tests showed problems within a week or so of the exam, and that if I didn't hear anything from them, that everything was fine. There were additional tests they would have needed to do if certain things showed up and they would have done them before sending the results on. Waiting for it to get all the way to CIC would have been problematic, as I had left the country by that point. Maybe there's variation between different panel physicians?

If the Panel Physician notices an immediate health problem that needs treatment or further investigation, they will notify you. However, they don't evaluate the medical for immigration purposes. If the IRCC medical officer sees something that may be an issue for immigration purposes, IRCC will notify you and request further tests.

The medical should be done before the application is sent in, and proof the medical is done should be sent with the forms. You can get the medical done in Canada, or anywhere else in the world - it just has to be done by a panel physician.
