Help: Nikah Nama/Marriage certificate

Dear members:

I need your advice regarding nikah nama. Our original nikah nama is in urdu only. And in addition we have the NADRA marriage registration certificate. On this forum some pakistani members have been talking about the original nikah nama in both urdu and english, whereas we have only in urdu. Is this sufficient along with a translation? Secondly, the nadra certificate is in both english and urdu, so do i need to translate the urdu section?

Lastly, do i need to attest both the original urdu nikah nama and nadra certificate from foreign ministry? Please guide.

As far as I know, you would either submit your Nadra nikkah naama (that has both languages) without any translation OR you would submit original Urdu nikkah naama with translation, affidavit and certified photocopy.

i guess we dont need to submit nikah nama only marriage certificate provided by nadra is suffice??

Yes, it is either the marriage certificate from Nadra OR urdu nikkah nama with translation, affidavit and certified copy.

No need to attest from foreign ministry. Once you translate just attest it from notary public that would be sufficient

I submitted only the NADRA one and I did not face any problems.

May I please know where did u get your nikah nama translated from? can i do it from any notary public?
