Hi everyone, I'll try keep this short, basically I'm a single mother to 3 children father is on birth certificate so have PR, however they have never been in my children's lives 11 and 6 years old, I'm planning ahead at the moment we are wanting to immergrate in the next 4 years when I finish my studies in counselling and psychotherapy from the UK.
Is there an option on the imm forms to avoid asking fathers permission to to parental abandonment/estranged father or would I have to apply to the courts here in the UK to leave?
We are planning on going to Alberta in summer 2021 and again I am supposed to ask permission from father to leave, and also to get a passport, so frustrating as I don't feel I should have to ask their permission I've done everything on my own all the way through. Grr rant over lol.
Basically this is so confusing and I'm trying to plan ahead to avoid any issues on route, any advise would be amazing.

You would need to apply through the courts for sole custody so that the passports aren't an issue and so that you can legally take your children to Canada without the spouse's permission. This is really the only option if you want to avoid involving the father.
