hi ; a girl from phlipine is planning to get married in morocco ; she is actually living in Mississauga canada she has been there for a year and a half and she doesnt have her permanet card yet she probably will get it next year ; anyway the problem is for her to marry a guy from morocco she needs to get a paper from the canadian embassy called marriage elejibility and without this paper marriage can not take place in morocco . i wonder if the canadian embassy give this paper to the poeple living in canada though they are not canadaian citizen and not having permanet resident card . i have been calling the embassy but noone picks up i want to give her an answer but i still cant get a hold of them ; can anyone suggest what to be done plz and thanks
What type of temporary status does this woman have in Canada? If she has legal temporary status - like she's here with a work permit or as a live-in caregiver, etc. - it's possible they would be able to certify that she hasn't married in Canada. But I doubt they would certify no marriage for someone who is in Canada with undocumented status. But that's just an opinion - hopefully someone who has some personal experience will know more.
