Help - Employer asked my friend to go back india, but her PR is under process.

Hi,
My friend has applied for PR and got AOR recently. he has valid closed work permit until next year october. Now employer asked him to go back india, but he doesnt want.
1. is there any way to get open work permit?.
2. is it possible to change the employer?

please advice.

The closed work permit makes things complicated. The only thing that your friend can do is to submit a BOWP application mentioning that you would like to work for another employer and need an open work permit. That being said, chances are very slim for the same because BOWP can only be applied when WP is expiring within 4 months.

Another option is to find another employer who is willing to sponsor his LMIA and get him another WP. Other options are getting a visitor visa, but will not be able to work.

The only thing that your friend can do is to submit a BOWP application mentioning that you would like to work for another employer and need an open work permit.
