I am planning to apply for visa extension online which requires a Client ID number (consists of four numbers, a hyphen (-) and four more numbers). But I could not find my Client ID number anywhere.

However, I did find on my visa an eight-digital number without a dash: 87*****7, is this my client ID? If not how can I get this information? I've already written to the embassy but they said they do not provide such information.

Unless you have been issued a visitor permit when you entered Canada, you don't have a client ID.

Hi!

What is a visitor permit? When I entered Canada, I didn't receive any other documents. At the boarder, they checked my passport, but didn't stamp my visa. I am staying in Canada to wait for the result of my sponsorship application. What is the difference between a visitor permit and a visitor visa?
