My status in Canada was International Student and my permit expired March 6, 2020. My partner is sponsoring me for the PR. We applied in December 2019 and s far we just have received the AOR. I was covered by MSP (BC) and now it is going to expire March 30th.
Does anybody could recommend me what to do while I am still waiting for my Work Permit and be able to apply for the Provincial Health Card again?
Do you know any private health insurance you recommend?
This is a big concern of mine because we are expecting a baby. We let immigration know when we applied but I am not sure if I can be still covered by the provincial health insurance or I need to apply to a private one while I am still waiting.

Being on implied status because of a PR application does not make you eligible for provincial health. you probably will get a work permit soon then you will be able to renew the provincial health.
Work and Study Permits
If you are in British Columbia under a Work or Study Permit and enrolled in the Medical Services Plan, your medical coverage will end when your Permit expires. If you are applying for a new Work or Study Permit and planning to stay in B.C., it is important that you apply for your new Permit as soon as possible to avoid a lapse in medical coverage and serve another wait period.
Individuals who have been advised by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada that they have ‘implied status’ and are waiting to receive their renewed permit should contact HIBC once they receive their new documentation. Once received, continuous coverage may be provided if eligible and requested.
