Hello

I have a few questions regarding Health insurance for foreign workers on open work permit (W1) in Montreal,QC. I have a W1 worker visa and an open work permit to be stamped at immigration.

- What is the requirement for immigration in regards to health insurance?
- Should the health insurance be through a Canadian provider?
- Will travel insurance that includes medical cover be enough ?
- Will I be eligible for health insurance through RAMQ, even if the work permit is only for 9 months?

Any advice would be highly appreciated
