Is there anyone who is familiar with my situation?
I’ve worked for 1 yr with job offer (LMIA). Recently, the business got taken over. New employer who took over the business is a successor in interest and eligible to hire me with the same condition as the job offer
(Same location, position/job duties and hourly wage). My previous employer gave me 2 documents that I can explain this situation for my PR application.
However, before I got to know that I could possibly maintain my LMIA/Job offer, I got spousal open work permit by flagpole since the employer didn’t tell me that they’re successor in interest and my agency said that my LMIA-based work permit didn’t work anymore because I got termination letter.
Ppl around me said that i am not eligible to get additional 50 points by the job offer since I got the open work permit and it automatically cancelled my closed work permit. Is that correct? Should I find new place?
