Has someone (Canadian Citizen) surrendered their Indian Passport in USA?

Information like what is the process you followed, how you did it, how long it took, etc.

I am just looking for surrendering the Indian Passport in USA to get surrender certificate, and not talking about getting OCI from USA as a Canadian citizen. I live in Canada and not USA, but want to understand if someone did this way.
