Has anyone sent their FBI letter to CIC via fax?

Just wondering if anyone has sent their letter by fax, rather than mailing it to CPC-M. I know in the `old days', before the FBI switched to issuing the report on plain 'ol white paper, CIC needed to receive the letter by mail, but now...who knows?!

The AIP letter that a friend recently received indicated that the FBI letter needed to be received by CPC-M by a certain date, and listed a mailing address, email address and fax number. Since the new FBI letters (issued by the FBI directly) are on standard white paper, with no watermark (?), I assume that sending it by fax would be allowed. Besides....it's the fastest way and the fax confirmation print out from the fax machine would basically be the AOR for that letter, right?

While I don't have any experience with it, I checked the page that talks about how to get a police certificate in the U.S. and it still says it must be an original. So I wouldn't assume anything...do a fax, but also send in the original.

Yeah...I guess that makes sense. Hopefully, when CIC finally realizes that the FBI is issuing letters like this now (with zero security features), they'll allow people to fax them to avoid the cost of mailing something...that will be identical to what they could receive by fax.
