H4 vs visitor visa

Hello,

I have an option to apply for h4 visa or visitor visa. If anyone can help me with some insight. Which is better option if traveling alone to usa side to visit friends and family.

I was told by someone that h4 can only cross land border is h1 is traveling with or already is in usa. Is that true?

If you are living in Canada and have no plans of relocating to the US soon you don’t qualify for an H4. Apply for a B1/B2.
