guys please advice

Dear all,

I have been accepted at Carleton University for MBA program. I need to apply for visa now. The university sent me an email earlier on asking for CAD 1500 as tuition deposit payble within 21 days. As i was offered conditional admission earlier, I asked them for extension and told them I will only submit the fee once i received un-conditional offer. Yesterday they emailed me that all of the conditions have been removed.

Since CAD 1500 is not a small amount, and this fee is non refundable I have been thinking of applying for visa without paying the fee. I will ask the university to grant me more extension days and in the meantime I will apply for the visa.

Will this affect my visa process? No such condition is written on admission letter that I need to pay CAD 1500, they only sent me an email.

As you are from pakistan,the average time for getting the visa is 3 months(correct me if i am wrong).As you said you wana apply for visa but dont want to pay non refundable 1500 CAD,you can apply for visa but if you do not pay the fee then uni may cancel your seat after some period of time.As you can not keep asking for extension.You already took extention once.

Hi Ahmad,
First of all , are u sure that CAD 1500 is NON-REFUNDABLE???
As far as I know,Most of the Universities after provoding an conditional/unconditional offer letter , ask you to confirm the seat, which means paying an additional amount like CAD 1500 or so ( amount is different for different univ). This amount is later adjusted in tuition fess, and in case ur Visa gets rejected this amount is refunded.
I am myself applying to a university, and the same process is followed there. Mind it, application fee and money given to confirm the saet are two different things.
Application fee is non-refundable whereas other one is refundable.
Just check with Carleton Univ, that in case u dont pay the CAD 1500, ur seat will be cancelled or so???
