Greek Penal Record from London,UK --- PLEASE HELP!!

Hi I am sponsoring my wife who is american but we lived in greece for 9 months. The Greek embassy here in london said they no longer issue penal records and we dont know anyone in Greece who can act on our behalf. Does anyone have any experiance with this type of situation?

I appreciate those who have read this post but no one has been able to reply. I have contacted the Greek Embassy here in London but all they would tell me is that penal records have stopped being issued from embassys. I have no one in Greece to go on my wifes behalf.

Has anyone here needed a Greek Penal record?

We had to travel to Greece to apply. We applied from Rhodes, as we were on holiday there. From there, the KEP office had to forward a request to athens. It's been over 5 weeks and still nothing. The KEP office said it can take over a month.. From there, we will have to have a friend in Greece pick it up, and have it translated by an approved translator recommended by the British consulate. I sent my whole package with the penal certificate missing, as I didn't want to wait too long and have my other penal certificates expire.
