I have a mother who was issued a 10 year supervisa, stamped on her passport. When she landed early this year she was granted a one year stay (the 10 year super visa allows for multiple entry not a 10 year continuous stay). Her current visa expires in January 2017.
My question is, would she be able to "flag poll" ie go to Nigara, cross the border and then come back and get a new one year visa as part of her 10 year super visa? Has any been in this same position. I know that flag polling can be used for permanent residence purposes but not sure about the supervisa program for parents and grand parents.
That likely wont work, as they might view your grandma as a non genuine visitor, since she's attempting to enter Canada so quickly after leaving. Visitors have to prove they're only planning on staying temporarily. Staying for a year, and then immediately coming back after leaving, doesn't show intent on staying temporarily.
Best to let her leave for a few months and then attempt to return.

She should apply online to extend her stay instead of flagpoling. If she can show proof of funds to support her extended stay, there should be no issues.
