So weird. I just got approved as sponsor and my wife got AOR1 in February. Now it's been a couple of weeks and we already got request for a medical. Is this normal? Also, does a request for a medical mean she will probably be accepted?
Our online account doesn't show a request for medical but my wife received an email that states she should go for a medical within 30 days. Unfortunately, she never checks her email and we were relying on the linked online application for updates. So, now we only have 11 days left to get her medical done. Eeek. Luckily, the medical place 3 hours from us schedules quickly so fingers crossed. Is there a way to get an extension if we can't get it done within 11 days?

No. They won't even start looking at her side of the application until they get ALL the information they need (of which medical and possibly biometric are the last bit of info).
Thank you! Argh, I was hoping this was good news. Biometrics won't be needed because she is a US citizen (I think biometrics aren't needed in that case). I just sent an updated police certificate through the Web form since there was also a letter saying they needed the updated one. I think the one we sent was a couple of months too old. Should I have done this or should I have sent it by snail mail?

You should really complete the medical within the 30 days given rather than requesting an extension. Your wife needs to be checking email more regularly. It's always possible you may receive additional requests related to your application and it's critical these not be missed.

I don't know, it depends on what they asked for. I know I had to send an ORIGINAL police cert for my wife, but she is a Brit. You could always play it safe and send by webform, mentioning that you are also mailing the original.
You really shouldn't read anything into anything (as it were). The PA is approved when they have their CoPR and anything can happen at any point until then. The people that worry the most are normally the people that should worry the least!

Thank you! We called and they said they will call back Monday to reschedule her appointment (for the medical) since we had originally scheduled it for April.
