Dear Friends,
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Happy !!!!
I got my PPR by email this afternoon. My VO Is Detroit and they have instructions to submit the passport by mail or in-person.
Thanks Mitali, Qorax, Sam, Bhakti, Destcan and all others who have helped me on this forum. A very special thanks to Mitali.
One last question I have is, my passport is expiring by end of this year (Dec-01,2012). Is that a problem ?
Anyways, I plan to land in Canadian soil well before that. Please advice.
Regards,
Kummy

Congrats!
Generally, you should land 6 months before the passport expiry date.

Congrats Kummy,
It's not a problem, but check the validity of your visa stamped as per my knowledge they only stamps until the passport is valid.
as far as you are landing before your passport expire would be not a problem. you have enough time to get your stamped passport back but I suggest you to get it done in-person so that way you have some extra time spare to gather things and prepare for landing.

Jigral

Congratulations my friend.
As long as the passport is valid on the day you land, there is no minimum validity from that side of things.
However, the visa office may require that it is valid for a certain length of time (3 to 6 months usually) when they receive it for visa stamping. So check with your visa office before sending the passports.
Wayne.

Congrats !
-There's no min validity requirement of pps, either for entering Canada or for visa stamping.
-However, as
Wayne correctly opined, ur visas'd expire on 01/12/12 [as per ur pp validity].
-U can safely 'land' till 30/11/12.
-If u can, reach ur VO by 0800 hrs. asap; u'd then receive ur PRVs the same day [by 10-1200 hrs.].
-And u could cross the Detroit border the same day as well.
