Can some one please throw light on what am I supposed to mention in the List of personal goods that I intend to bring with me to Canada? I plan to come back to US and am not really aware the personal goods that I intend to carry to Canada when I plan to emigrate there.
Good to carry could come under 2 heads, 'Goods on Person' & 'Goods to Follow'. Both needs to de declared at your 1st landing, vide Form B4 & B4A [refer the CBSA site].
Remember, the good to follow can only be declared now [upon 1st landing], if u wish to claim them 'tax free'. If u do not do it now, later u cannot bring them inside Canada w/out paying for them.
So, if it were me, I would think about it seriously now & prepare a list of them, asap.

I do not intend to move to canada on an immediate basis do I need to apply for apply for social insurance number and for a health card in this visit? I am landing at Niagara and will return to US the same day
