Hi all
I got my application back with a highlighted mistake, which is:
"The main duties listed in Schedule 3, page 2 of your application are insufficient. Please provide a detailed description of your main duties performed in the identified occupation."
in my application, i wrote:
NOC 4131
less than 1 year
-Deliever Cisco networking courses
-Train on Cisco hardware/software
NOC 4131
1 year but less than 2
-Deliever IT related courses
so i just modified to this :
NOC 4131
1 year but less than 2
-Deliver Cisco networking courses
-Train on Cisco hardware and software
-Supervise the students working in the lab
-Provide consultancy support for customers
-Specialize in Routing, Switching, Security
NOC 4131
1 year but less than 2
-Deliver general IT related courses
-Provide basic IT and help desk support
-Involve in setting up the labs for training
-Participate in scheduling the courses
-Supervise the students working in the lab
so now before sending.. and to prevent wasting more time.. can you please tell me if this is sufficient or not? or naturally do i have to attach another paper for this section just to support ..?
Pls add some more details n use attached sheet.
thanks ripon
any more suggestions?
hello mate,
I applied in 4131 from UK my wife being principal applicant and got AOR y'day and we supplied a whole lot of work duties. your description of job does not sounds like 4131.
You will have to mention what are you teaching in details may be bullet points..how are you supporting the students either extra classes or project work something along the lines and try matching it closely with the job description of NOC 4131 from the website..
As an example your below highlighted items are not part of tranier job. Its more like a help desk support..Trainers do not do this..
Provide consultancy support for customers
Provide basic IT and help desk support
Specialize in Routing, Switching, Security
If possible use extra sheet thats what i did ..
Hope i am making sense..Good luck..
Cheers,
Deep
Check main duties for 4131 in NOC website and try to write so that it covers what stated there.
They want 2-3 lines of description of your duties, not breif the way you provided.
Like:
Providing key concepts in Cisco routing basics like making subnets- subdividing the network into more specialised segments, making introductory to intermediate level routing policies, Planning and implementing VLSM and VLAN for the convenience and ensuring security for the departments.

Thanks a million!!.. w/o your note i would have sent my application this way...
i am working now in writing the details of whats my JD... i guess its very very significant otherwise they wouldn't have returned my application back to me....
and really thank you all... i really appreciate it

hi jnathan...
no .. they return back the bank draft i sent...
am thinking of canceling it and putting my credit card number.. wat do u think?
also, i learned that i "should be performing a minimum of 70-75 % of duties listed on the HRSDC website in order to be eligible" quoting from rocky272727
in HRSDC website, there are 10 bullet points.. and i actually do 6 out the 10 (of course plus some other duties that are not listed)
is this good enough.. or what shall i do?
Adam,
60-70% should be fair enough.
Write ellaborately about your duties. main things are planning, controlling, recruiting, budgeting.
A single miss could result in return/rejection.
I saw one guy got returned his application for not mentioning recruiting operation at his job place.
So dont forge to mention all, I strongly believe that every 0213 managers have some ( more or less) sort of role to play in all the duties that CIC mentioned on their website.
I personally would have used my credit card for the payment but currently I am using is not a dual currency specialized, so I sent DD.
Adam,
Please take a look at this link:
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=4131
In the list of duties for NOC 4131, it is very important that the applicant must be doing the duty listed number 1 in the list. CIC's term for this is "lead statement"
Camilla of the other forum gave everyone a tip to ensure this lead statement must be mentioned in your application to ensure approval. I have confirmed this that this is true when I received my CAIPS notes. And I quote " DUTIES PERFORMED BY PA CORRESPOND TO THE LEAD STATEMENT AND MAIN DUTOES OF THIS ELIGIBLE NOC 3152".
Regards.
