Got admission for September semester at Uni of Victoria, When should i apply?

Hello,

I have got admission for M.eng in Uni of Victoria September 2013 semester, I still haven't got my passport but will get by end of March or start of April 2013. I want to ask when should I apply for the study permit visa and Should I apply online or paper based? If i apply online will my processing time will increase ? as written in Canada official visa website (25 weeks) or the processing time mentioned in Pakistan Canada visa Website (8 weeks) ?

Apply asap, gather your documents and apply as soon as you get your passport.

26 weeks is the processing time to go by, however the times seems to have come down this year.

Online or paper is your preference, I don't think it makes that much different either way.

I will apply soon as soon as i get the passport , I was thinking to gather the docs after receiving my passport and Has any one applied through online system this year ? And when did they get response ? I am just confuse about this thing

Online application doesn't make any difference. Apply through paper based as it was easy for me just fill the form , print it out and send through post with required documents to the embassy.

1. They won't start processing of your application before the first week of June.

Enfield, why is that?

If the average processing time is 6 months, doesn't logic dictate that processing of an application start as soon as its complete?

Because at Pakistan their is issue of Passport going on, I will get at end of April May be ,,

1. You can apply anytime, they won't process your file before June 1st week (for September entry).

Not true, my friend recently got a visa for a Sep'13 start date. He applied in January.

Reason: On September 1st, 2011 I got a phone call from CHC Chandigarh (India) to submit a 'Letter of Deferral' for May 2012 entry and collect passport (with TRV) in the first week of Feb 2012. On questioning why so late! They answered, 'we issue visa only 3 months in advance of class start date, so we will process your application in Feb 1st week for May entry'.
