I am going to land in Canada in March and am preparing the BSF186 form for ‘Goods to follow’. Realize that there will not be any duties imposed on the ‘goods to follow’ for landed immigrants for the first shipment (other than items purchased within the 6 months prior to landing). That being said, I am wondering if the ‘goods to follow’ can be shipped in 2 shipments and whether there will be any duties imposed on the second shipment (which will contain only used clothings and books etc). Also, within how long a period should these ‘goods to follow’ (whether it’s one shipment or 2 shipments) have to be shipped to Canada - within one year from landing or can it slightly longer than a year (say, one year and 3 months from the date of first landing)? Will appreciate very much your advice! Many thanks!
