We are currently living in the U.K. and we have been told that our application is being processed in Mississauga. Can we go to Canada for a few months while my husband's application is being processed? If we can and it's completed while we are in Canada, would we need to go back to the UK to receive it?
Yes, you can come to Canada. Your husband can stay as a visitor for up to six months. He will not need to return to the UK if the application is approved while you are in Canada. You would want to update your address on file with IRCC to the Canadian address. The approval letter will provide instructions on what to do if the applicant is currently in Canada.

Should not be an issue, as long as the stuff is listed as yours... if you've been gone for more than 12 months you can import everything back tax and duty free (as long as no single item is worth more than $10,000)
