I have received a job offer from an employer in Vancouver. They want me to start ASAP and for that reason the HR person mentioned that they will be applying for a work visa under the Global Talent Stream (GTS) since the PR LMIA is a time consuming process.
I have done some research but there is not much information on the GTS. I have an active PR profile with 437 points and don't see the score dropping to that level.
Couple of key questions:
1. Will I have to wait for 1 year to gain Canada experience and therefore use those points for the PR?
2. Is there any other way that I can start the PRT process while on the GTS?
3. Is there any way I can avoid the LMIA and still secure the PR
4. Do I need an LMIA for BC PNP?
5. Will my wife and child be able to come with me and can my wife work on a GTS?
6. Pros and Cons of GTS
Please feel free to respond to these questions or any others comments you might have.
Do you have a positive LMIA? Without it you cannot apply for anything.
Secondly, GTS is a program that gives applicants 2 week priority processing. Express entry is a different thing. If you get a postive LMIA, you should apply for a WP for yourself. Then go to Canada, spend 1 year. Your express entry points will go straight to somethint like 470 or 500. This will include canadian work experience of 1 year. Which will also let u apply for the Canadian Experience Class program inside Canada.
1) Yes
2) Yes
3) No. Unless you secure minimum points required for ITA for PR.
4) Jobs that require LMIA.
5) Yes. Spouse eligible for WP or OWP or Visitor for same duration as YOURS.
6) 2 week priority processing. Where as PR takes 4-6 months. Even longer for some.

I live in the US, processings times are available if you do a simple google search. They tend to stick to their processing times unless there is some documentation misalignment.
