On the sponsored spouse questionnaire, they ask if we've given each other any gifts. I'm assuming this is referring to our first meeting only, which is how I took it from reading the application.
They aren't talking about throughtout our relationship? We've been together over 5 years now so obviously there has been lots of gifts in the meantime
I agree that the question is referring to the first meeting only. However, you can list the gifts (or some of them) that you have given each other elsewhere in the forms, maybe in the 'further details of your relationship' section. If you have a lot of other proof, I wouldn't bother, but it won't hurt either.
I'm not certain if it refers to the first meeting only but i submitted every gift I had a record of. Like a picture of him showing me he received my gifts, him using what i bought for him and vice versa. It'd be better to send more now than have them question why so few gifts and potentially asking for more documentation, which could delay your application.
I sent the application in yesterday and only referenced the first meeting. Fact is, we have lots of good evidence and proof so I don't think it would be a problem. not sure if i could even find the receipts for the other gifts anyway.

How can you have a ready gift for your first meeting ? the 1st meeting is the 1st time you saw your other half and you started talking .
the first date is not the 1st meeting and the question about gifts refers to the whole relationship , if there was any exchange of gifts .

There are plenty of people who start off in a long-distance online relationship. In my case we spoke for a couple years before every meeting each other in person. The question the original poster is referring to does only refer to gifts given in the first meeting, not the entire relationship. Any other gifts at other times can be used as proof of relationship, but they shouldn't be used for that question.

I think sometimes the questions can be confusing but that depends on what culture you are from. Some cultures probably have the custom of bringing gifts on the first meeting or a religious ceremony for an engagement, etc. while other cultures don't have anything like that, so the question can seem a little confusing at first glance, because it's really written for someone from a particular culture/religious background.
