I have sent my GIC amount 10230CAD to Scotiabank from my local bank HDFC on January 3, 2020. Later, I found out that the bank has made an error by adding an extra 16th digit to the existing 15 digit account number. Rest all details, I.e address, name and even first 15digit of the account number are correct. I have also sent an email to Scotiabank regarding the same. Today is 14th January 2020 and, I haven't received any email or any notification regarding the amount received or the amount rejected from the Scotiabank till now.
Does anyone know the chances of outcome in this situation?
Even if the amount is returned, how many days will it take to return from the day of transfer? Do I need to contact anyone at the bank regarding this?
Will they reduce any amount while returning?
