How can I get a work permit in Canada? Is it the same here in USA that you should have an employer first then apply for a work permit/working visa/H!-B Visa? Or I can just apply a work permit directly by submitting my credentials? Please advice?
If you want a work permit, generally you need a job offer. Go to the immigration Canada website and look at provincial nominee programs in the immigration section. You can find links there to the various provinces nominee programs. Alberta has an immigration class especially for people who are on H1B visa in the US.
If you want to go for PR directly, you can apply as a federal skilled worker. You would need to qualify under a points system. You don't need a job offer but it can take a long time before you are approved.
