Hi! I'd love to hear any stories folks might have about getting their SIN number if they are from a country that does not require a visa to enter Canada.

My PPR requested only a copy of my passport pages so I won't be getting the counterfoil, however docs required for SIN seem to indicate COPR and counterfoil are required.

Anyone experienced this yet?

Thanks in advance!

It will not be a problem.

If you are really worried, when you apply for your SIN, take a copy of the CIC request (letter or email) for your passport pages.

You'll simply go to a Service Canada, and present your passport with the CoPR. This is proof enough, and they will issue you a SIN on the spot. You'll receive a document with your SIN on it. The card will follow [through the mail] a few weeks later.

You will be mailed the COPR by the processing office. So you will be fine as you will have it when you "land"

Thanks all! Appreciate your advice!
