Getting sin number

I just arrived in canada and went to get my sin number but the lady refused to give me stating that I can only get a sin if I want to work in canada but I said that students too can get it but she refused to give me a sin after that I talked with my other friends and they saw my study permit and said there is no conditions written on my study permit and I think it is the reason for my problem so can anyone tell me what should I do since without it I cannot access my bank account and do other stuff and if you are wondering about my_qualifications then I passed 12th standard this year and applied for office administration health science course

Better to call IRCC and Service Canada separately and find out what might be the cause. Although, I have a feeling it's because you're still a minor. Again not sure though, call them and they will guide you properly!

When does your college course start? Is it a public or private college? Did you provide proof of registration? Why anyone would pay international fees for a health admin office course and why you were granted a study permit is a whole other issue.
