Getting PR while under student VISA

I would like to know if its possible for me get a Permanent Residence being Canada on a study visa. If yes, please let me know how should i proceed for it.
I am doing Masters in Pharmacy and would like to do PhD in pharmacy and during the course of which i would like to apply for immigration.

IF you were admitted to Canada for 1 year, you can apply either at Buffalo or your Country of residence. You should note that if you have to attend an interview in the US you will require a VV and the US will usually not give a vv to attend Immigration visa. Have you taken the test at : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/index.html to see if you qualify?
