Hi there, I have a full-time job and PGWP while my wife has OWP. I plan to apply for her health card (OHIP), and the officer there told me that if my wife's name is not listed on my work permit, she couldn't get OHIP because I have a full-time job. I'm confused since the OHIP web page says it is qualified. Has anyone faced this situation? Thanks!

This is kinda weird...we visited Service Ontario last week and the officer there told us that since her name was not listed on my permit, she couldn't get OHIP because I had full-time job and we were married. Maybe I should try other locations?

I was nervous about not getting PGWP at that time since I had a break. So I didn't mention my wife. Also, I didn't know this OHIP was related to what was written on my permit. Is that possible for me to apply to add her as my dependent or something else? Thanks for your suggestion!

How did your wife get an SOWP if you didn’t declare the fact that you were married on your PGWP application but were married? Did she get an OWP via different pathway?

I had study permit then I married then she applied for sowp. I graduated this year and applied for PGWP. I’m not sure if I declared I was married but all my info are consistent to ircc. I never try to hide anything to them.

I know…I found a paralegal applied PGWP for me and I checked I provided materials that mentioned I was married. Is there any way I could add her as my dependent? Also, I’m applying for owp extension for her. I hope it will be approved.

You really can't change this after the fact. You'll just have to apply for the OWP, list her as your spouse and see if any questions come back from IRCC.
