Yes, you can. Just ask for the Upfront Medical Exam when showing up at the doctor's office. Don't forget to get your Information Printout Sheet before you leave the clinic.
Recommend you don't do it this way unless you're expecting an ITA the same week and would be submitting your application over the weekend. 2 reasons.
1. Medicals are valid for 1 year. The later you do them, the longer you get to plan your landing (if you're already in Canada, this isn't the most important point).
2. There has been a tendency of medicals falling through the cracks at CIC and this tends to increase in direct proportion to the number of days between medicals and post ITA submission. It will be prudent to schedule medicals as close as possible to post ITA submissions.
Thanks for the reply Asivad and Sunil. I had taken an appointment, but seems I will have to cancel it then. Asivad, I don't clearly understand your second point though, sorry for that. Do you mean that the timeline between medical and submission of application should be as less as possible?
So, Banff the medical has to be valid for the complete process till the landing or should it be valid at the time when they start processing our application?

OMG you guys. U are scaring me! How long did it take (on average) to get the PR once you get the ITA? I was hoping once I have the ITA to already book my plane ticket and within 4 months to be in canada. Please don't ruin my hope

4 months from post ITA document submissions seems a reasonable estimate provided everything in your application checks out fine and there aren't too many document requests.
