Getting fired while waiting for Permanent Residency

Hello i would to know what if someone is waiting for his permanent residency and havent been asked yet to do the medical and gets fired what happens to the person and his application and can he find another job... Thank you

It depends how that person has applied for PR.

It depends what kind of work permit they hold.

My friend has applied for the permanent residency under the Provincial Nominee and has a closed working permit as skilled worker and the company that he is working they are actually putting people on lay off and also did fire some people too and we would like to know what must he do in the case if he gets fired. Thank you

can't get another job while they have a closed work permit. would need to find another employer willing to go through the LMIA process for them.

Hello,

For the experience that I have, and as I know if you have your application in process you can apply for open work permit till you get the response from the immigration for the decision that they make for your PR.

Just go online and you can check if you are eligible to apply for work permit...
