Hello Everyone.

I am sorry in advance if this post is not on the right section page.
I currently hold a PGWP and live in B.C.. I would like to take a chance at learning French in Quebec or Montreal to prepare myself for the TEF French exam for at least a CLB 7 score.
When looking for French programs online, I stumbled across the "French-language courses for immigrants" where the government pays for you to learn French if you meet the requirements. Based on all that, it raises questions;
Is it actually that simple to get enrolled in a school of French and get financial aid from the government if I am an international student on a work permit (PGWP)?

Has anyone here applied for the same studies and got help from the government to learn the language?
I speak little French myself, so I am also wondering if it would be realistic to get a job somewhere (Quebec, Montreal) with English only? Maybe at a coffee shop?!

Thank you in advance!

By the way (Since July 1, 2021: )
Temporary workers, foreign students, as well as their spouse, are now eligible for part-time French courses as well as the accompanying financial assistance. Prior to this, individuals who were temporarily residing in Québec did not have access to in-class French courses offered by the Government of Québec.
