Funds at landing

I am planning to Land in Vancouver as my wife got transfer through current company.
Since i am the principal applicant, should we carry the required CAD19k as we are family of four or can we carry CAD 5k

Please advice

I may be wrong but you need to bring CAD$ 20,599 because your wife, although has a job offer, is not the principal applicant. You can either wait for a response from other members in this forum or you can write CIC or CHC, depending on what stage of the application you are at, as to how much funds you have to bring.

You are not wrong. In fact you are very correct. The funds of CA$20K+ must be landed with or they wont progress any further than the airport.

The info I have received from extensive reading on this site and three other sites like this. Persons who have gone on before have related their stories.

do we need to carry cash that much? like we have to withdraw our money at the bank and bring it to canada in cash?

All members' advices to u r correct. Plz do not goof-up on the Landing POF. U might be denied entry if u r not carrying your POF (in full) as per the CIC guidelines. Some applicants got into trouble upon landing.

Remember, u r not an AEO case, which do not require a POF. U r a normal FSW case, just that your spouse (Luckily) got an offer lately. Which didn't change your apps status.
