Dear All,

I was just going through the statistics page on CIC Website and pulled some numbers posted there

Backlog on 12/31/2010 - 334,881
Backlog on 12/03/2011 - 322,623

Backlog cleared in 3 mths - 12,258

Extrapolating this rate and discounting any slowness due to festive seasons or running out of visas in a particular year or addition to any new backlog,

Backlog expected to be cleared in 12 mths (by 12/31/2011) - 49,032
# of months required to clear backlog - 78.96
Date by which entire backlog will be cleared - 9/30/2017

Let me know your thoughts...

Take in the X% of applications recalled by applicants + also the cases which unfortunately will be declined and rejection decisions are taken in much less time than approved...+ other factors i may not think of now...

so there are varying factors which will reduce the time projected in your calculations....

These figures relate to pre-Feb 2008 applicants. I think we should also look at the row above where the FSW applicants post Feb 2008 has increased from 173050 to 176189 in 3 months :o. This is despite subsequent reduction in total no. of NOCs and applications and clearly indicates a slowdown in post Feb 2008 app. processing. At this rate, it is difficult to call it a "Faster Immigration" plan and CIC and Immig. min. should really be made to look into this delay and applicant's money being held indefinitely >:(.
