Hi all. I have a query regarding claiming maximum work experience points under multiple NOCs as an FSW candidate.

Since we know that an FSW candidate can obtain maximum work experience points for at least 3 years of work experience, I want to know if you can combine work experience under multiple NOCs to claim the points for 3 years of work experience. For e.g.: if the FSW candidate has 2 years of work experience in their primary NOC code, and 1 year of work experience in a different/secondary NOC code, can this total to 3 years work experience? Would one be able to claim the 3 years work experience points for FSW?

Thanks.

To be eligible for EE-FSW, you need one year of continuous skilled work experience in one NOC. That is your primary NOC. After that you can have as many NOCS as you want to count 3 years.

Thanks a lot for your response. So when you calculate the CRS points using the CRS tool, and also when you fill your Express Entry profile, you select "3 years" as the foreign work experience (considering 2 years in primary NOC + 1 year in other NOC)...is that correct?

Also, do you have a link that provides this information? I was unable to find it. Thanks again.

Not sure what your question is but google - combine NOCs Express Entry - and you will find a lot of information.
Yes, I did Google a little on it, and found similar information mentioned by people, but wasn't sure if the information was correct. Hence, wanted to confirm here. Thanks for confirming it.

Hello, I would like to further elaborate on this query. I want to know if jobs from multiple NOC codes which overlap for a calendar year would be acceptable for claiming 3 years of work experience.

Consider the following situation:
  • Primary NOC code - Work experience from February 2020 to February 2022 = 2 years
  • Different/secondary NOC code - Work experience from September 2021 to September 2022 = 1 year

Would the above situation be ok for claiming points under 3 years of work experience, considering that the jobs are performed simultaneously in the same calendar year?

I would appreciate if anyone could provide inputs on this, thanks.

Your work experience is from February 2020 to September 2022. You cannot combine overlapping jobs to claim 3 years. There are two parts - calendar year and then hours. So you need the years of experience, then the hours. So you have two years experience.

Thanks again for clarifying this point. If the below situation is present, how many years of work experience would be considered?

  • Primary NOC code - Work experience from February 2020 to February 2022 = 2 years
  • Different/secondary NOC code - Work experience from September 2021 to January 2023 = 1 year 4 months

Pls I have a question.

I have 2yrs 5mths experience in one NOC code as financial analyst - TEER 1 and

10mths experience as a secondary school teacher (was paid in cash) in another NOC code - TEER 1.
Both experience were full time.

Please can I combine this as a total of 3 years? Will it be recognised by IRCC? Also has anyone successfully gotten PR that was in this situation?

Pls I look forward to ur replies. I am considering starting the express entry process.

Thanks for commenting on this thread. Even I'm not too sure of this, but based on what I had asked earlier, it seems that the experiences need to be in different calendar years. Is your work experiences in different calendar years?
