Hi,

I am starting a new thread for FSW 2014..

What changes are anticipated this year, which NOC Codes will continue, which ones to go?

Will there be any changes to the application cap??

Come lets discuss here!!

It is quite likely the program will not reopen in 2014.

Definitely...

A new one called EOI(Expression of Interests) starts January 2015 which would be opened to all professions but based strictly on selection by CIC and Canadian employees. Your EOI would be extracted from the general database by CIC and added to a pool designed where this selection would take place.

It would be a lot difficult starting from January 2015 and would be based on 100% luck!

So anybody who wants to apply should make haste and do so now! The deadline(April 30th, 2014) is near and fast approaching.

All the best!

I dont think it will be purely based on luck...

EOI is systematic form of process where it selects the pool of people that has highest number of points and sends invitations to those who have the highest point.

the Aussie system is like you need 60 points minimum for PR but if you have 75 you will be selected first..Each skill has a cap that changes every year...And the Invitation rounds are held every fortnight or so...that invites applicants having the highest points in that particular skill..

Makes sense..But I dont know if Canada could actually implement it..

Ok ...let's see how it's going to be implemented

Is the deadline (april 30th, 2014) for FSW applicants with arranged employment also ?

No! Those with arranged employment are exempted...they can apply at any time of the year.

hi all,

I am going to apply for PR for upcoming scheme.
We are living in ahmedabad. My wife has studied in banglore for 4 years 2003 to 2007. My consultant is saying that You have to take Police verification certificate(PVC) or Police Clearence Certificate (PCC) compulsorily for the place where you have stayed more than 6 months therefore, I have to take PCC for my wife from banglore for that four years. I have inquired from my sources in banglore, banglore police is saying that i have to apply to local passport office for (PCC) and ahmedabad passport office will send documents to banglore police station regarding PCC or PVC and they will send PCC or PVC to ahmedabad passport office. Thereafter I have inquired to my regional passport office, the passport officer has told me that my wife is living in ahmedabad for more than 1 year so there is no need to take PVC or PCC from banglore and they will give me PCC for Ahmedabad only.

So guys after this much big story can you help me out?
1. what are requirements for PVC or PCC?
2. is my consultant is right or the passport officer?
3. I have seen few same cases in past who got visa without this kind of PVC or PCC. so this rules has been changed?

Pls. guide me.

Thanks in advance.

A certificate is required for:
1. you
2. your spouse/common-law partner (if applicable)
3. each of your dependent children who is 18 years of age or older (if applicable) from the police authorities in all countries where you have resided for a period of six months or more since turning 18. There may be more than one type of police certificate available in each country. To find out which one you need and how to apply for it, visit the CIC Web site:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp. If you do not provide the correct type of police certificate, the processing of your application will be delayed.

Hi

I am also from Ahmedabad. I did the process last time in 2013 but was not in CAP.
The process is that you need to go to shahibaug police station for Police certificate. Later on they will direct you to your area police station.

But I heard that its validity is short, so once the announcement for 2014 fsw take place, you apply for it.
Mine last year certificate will not be applicable this year. I need fresh certificate.
