I have a close work permit that is valid till mid 2015 and I have already applied for the PR under CEC though waiting for AOR.
My spouse who accompanies me came here on TRV but now has an open work permit.

I already know this that if I lose my job, my permit will get cancelled and I'll have to get my status changed to temporary resident hence I wont be able to legally work but my wife's permit stays valid.

What I would like to know is, provided the above situation (i.e me loosing job) would I be then able to apply for an open work permit provided my spouse has a valid open work permit? Do remember though that she's got her permit based my current closed work permit.

Thank-you very much in advance for replying!

1. If you lose your job, you work permit is still valid, allowing you to remain, you just can't work for a new employer without a new LMO and new work permit.
2. No.
