Hi IT Forum members,

How are the opportunities for IT in Canada. I am from Java background with 10 years of IT experience from Hyd.

DM made for me and sent back my passports for small correction.

Am getting tensed of getting IT job in canada. First time in 10years am planning to resign without an offer in hand.. I heard that we can't get an offer from India.. Appreciate if anybody shed some light in this area.

Thanks
Reddy

Dear Sir

Please accept this fact that "Immigration is Re-Birth"
Opportunities are always there for the ones who has ability to accept challenges and work against all factors who are there to fail him

Stay Blessed

Hi Ashok,
Congratulations on your visa and Welcome to Canada!!!

It is fairly easy for you to find a job in Toronto with your IT experience.
If you are working with any Indian service companies, try to find an onsite opportunity.
All Indian IT majors have local offices here and all of them work with major clients here.
All of them are recruiting throughout the year.
Try to find some contacts in these firms who can help you once you land.

Update your resume to Canadian standards; New comer centers and IT consultants will help you with that.
Update your linked in profile--make it professional and add brief explanation of your projects/clients/technology experience etc.
Contact some consultants like Procom, Randstad, Robert-half, TES solutions etc. Call them up, fix an appointment and they will help you find an opportunity.
Enroll for a co-op program conducted by Adult learning centers at many locations. They help with resume, interview preparation and provide some volunteer opportunity.
Firms like Access Employment, career bridge etc. have tailor made co-op for IT professionals.
Networking thru Linked-in or other social media will help you as most of the job postings and recruitment happen thru referrals.
All the best!!!
