French dual citizen looking to immigrate to Canada

Was attending a Uni in Montreal but in spring 2024, I underwent academic probation until Fall 2026 so I can’t apply for a study permit yet. I took a year to work and gain experience, and since my girlfriend from Montreal moved with me to France, we were looking at options to move back to Montreal to build a life there. How could I go about applying to work in Canada for a year before attaining a study permit in 2026? Is there any express options for me to acquire a work permit as a French citizen or does that hold no value?
