I am sponsoring my common law partner as we have recently completed the one year cohabitation.
My question is if I understand correctly we only fill out form IMM1283
if he has any dependents or dependent children ?
He has no kids do we just write NA?

Correct. In fact if he has own dependent children doesn't apply either. Dependents of dependents, would have to.
