Hello,

I'm an exchange student in Canada, and I've been offered a summer research post. In order to avail, I have to obtain a work permit (it's outside the exchange period, so my study permit does not permit me to work).

In order to apply online, I fill my forms and apply through My CIC. The problem is, I've forgotten my username/password.

Any idea on what I should do? There does not seem to be a way to recover username. Password, if you know username, sure. But not username....

I think that you need to call CIC call center they should help you with resetting your password( not sure )

Check whether there is email reset link.
 
E-mail is for forgoten password only - but not for user ID. Does calling by one of those numbers is the only way to get back access to my application? Anyone has solved this problem?

You can use the receipt # as well.
 
I have the same problem. The thing is Idk why it happened. Since it was always saved in my laptop. One day, it just told me the pw/id was wrong. I had to recover my password. But when I did that, it just locked me out. I entered my email address and it said not found....I called them and they were absolutely useless. The lady told me the only solution is to create a new account and they could not help recovering my old one.
