Hi seniors.
I graduated from my university in May 2010.
I was hired by a company on 7th November 2009 as part time trainee research analyst.
But i started working full time from April 2010 to April 2011 as field sales manager and that's what i declared in my express entry profile.
Do you think it could it be a problem.
Please advise
I have all the required documents and if asked i can even show my employer's ledger and payroll account details (worst case).
Is anyone in similar situation.
And what do you guys have to say about it.
It should not be a problem. In your letter state that your current/most recent position us that of a 'field sales manager' in company X where you undertook the following duties ...
Then get a separate letter by the same company to say that from (date X) to (date Y) you were employed as a part time trainee research analyst where you did the following duties ...The key thing is to distinguish between 'full time' and 'part time'
The hours worked per week will also be different.
That's what i did.
Provided two letters.
One says i used to work 25-30 hrs per week( i haven't claimed score for part time experience) and other says 40 hrs per week with job duties.
My problem is i was in last month of university when i started working full time.
Would they pick on that.
Based on what you have said, I know CIC has a policy where they don't count any experience acquired during time periods where 'fulltime' study is undertaken simultaneously.
I am typing on my phone so when I go home I will cut and paste the link if I can find it.
Yes that's what the link says.
It's for cec and all my experience gained in cec is while i had work permit and while i was back home i started working a month before i graduated.
I graduated in May 2010 and started working from April 2010.
From your post you did not claim points for the part time experience and the experience was gained whilst you were in school, why would you want to complicate your application by including reference letter for that?
My advice is only include the reference letter as a field sales manager you claimed point for!
Then on your personal history you can then add up the trainee research analyst!
Goodluck
I haven't claimed points for part time experience, neither i have provided any reference letter.
I have just included that in a detailed employment letter.
My only concern is i claimed being full time from April 2010 and i graduated in May 2010.
I ordered gcms notes.
It said i have 13 mnths foreign experience.
Wouldn't they automatically not count April 2010 experience and count my experience from May. (12 months)
Hi, it applies to Foreign Work as well. The general idea is that 'Working' and 'studying' are two separate things. Hence any work accumulated as part of a study program or during the time a person was a 'full' or 'part' time student will not count as work experience (whether in Canada) or overseas.
